@Spetz kinda agree but distance do make a different.. lets say if u shoot from center ice, there will be a different for sure... but his momentum helped alot for sure, nhl starts at blue line where this guy starts at center ice..

@Abuddappaa I would take that bet. It's not the distance from the net because the radar is behind the net pointed towards the player and it's measuring max speed not average speed. It's the skate in that is making the difference. The NHL players start at the blue line. This guy started at the red line, and had an extra 5-7 feet on top of that.

@00StangGT00 take a class in physics and you'll change your mind. Distance to the net doesn't determine velocity of the puck. Ryaz skated towards the puck much faster than Chara so his added momentum might have added a good amount to the shot but the distance from the puck to the net isn't the issue. This is the fastest recorded slap shot I've ever seen.

@SidTheKidPens87 im almost positive that they shoot from the same distance. in the NHL all star game, the net is moved forward, as well as shooting from higher in the slot.

it doesnt matter where he is in relation to the net. The radar measures the puck at its fastest speed, not when it hits the net.

Well, they shoot closer in KHL than in NHL and that helps. Chara shooting from that close, 190 km/h would be very close.

Silly to compare this to the NHL competition. They get a WAY longer run onto the puck, so way more speed, and the shot is like 3-6 feet away from the net. Way easier to get higher speeds.

О чем спор-то, Дениска Куляш сильнее бросает, чем и Рязанцев, и Хара. Посмотрите его бросок прошлого года, практически без разбега. 177 км/ч. А если бы пол-площадки бежал, как те, то и все 200 бы бросил.

This is harder than Charas. Look at the speed they are able to pick up compared to the NHL. Think the puck are closer to the goal aswell.

Yeah, don't forget Chara's skating impulse is slower, and his longer stick absorbs part of the power. He actually hits the ice before the puck. Chara > Ryaznantsvev or whatever.
